Framfield

Framfield is a large parish and village a mile and a half east of Uckfield. Framfield is in the East Grinstead division of Sussex, in the hundred of Loxfield Dorset, rape of Pevensey, rural deanery of Uckfield, archdeaconry of Lewes and diocese of Chichester. Within Framfield is the hamlet of Blackboys. Framfield is 44 miles south of London The population of Framfield in 1811 was 1,074; in 1841 was 1,484; in 1861 was 1,355; in 1871 was 1,521; in 1881 was 1,527; in 1891 was 1,663; in 1901 was 1,616; in 1911 was 1,596; in 1921 was 1,641; and in 1831 was 1,667 Framfield is recorded in the Domesday book as Framelle
